Hi everyone,
Thank you for being so very patient as the Club rolls out the details for the upcoming Spring 2021 season. I have shared some bits and pieces of information, but this e-mail is going to be a bit lengthy but complete. Important and serious at times. This is part of my commitment I took as Club President in 2018, to be as transparent as possible in every aspect of information. Words cannot express the gratitude that I have for all of you that chose to put your trust in Wonder Lake Youth Soccer Club. We are back with an anticipated full season and ready to have a lot of fun. However, we will, as a collective group, need to do things differently in these uncertain times. Cue the serious part of this e-mail… I have posted Spectator and Player guidelines on our websites to set expectations on conduct and procedures. This includes the expectations on mask wearing, social distancing and other health and safety topics. ACTION REQUIRED by each family: (only needs to be done once per family) is to read and acknowledge these guidelines. These will be always available on the website for review after acknowledgment. I will be keeping track and ensuring these acknowledgements are made before uniform pickup. Link to the guidelines for you to take action: https://wonderlakeyouthsoccerclub.weebly.com/code-of-conduct.html These guidelines are considered final. Yes, there are going to be moments where some of this seems extreme. I have always been flexible on many league related matters since I started coaching in 2016, but these guidelines have been considered from many points of view and are in place for a reason. We are trying to find that balance between allowing all to play to have fun and allowing all to play safely. The Club will monitor the latest guidance and if there is any need to tighten or loosen the guidelines, I will consider implementing those changes. If there are any concerns about what is outlined, I am more than willing to listen and talk through them. In reality, it is only for 1-4 hours a week, depending on age level. These are consistent with all soccer clubs in the area. I thank you for your cooperation on this matter in order for all of us to remain well.
